Founded by Robert Balch, a University of Florida graduate from the College of Design, Black Box Design represents the union of artistry and structure. After 25 years in carpentry and construction, Robert transitioned into design AND build, where his 45 years building experience now fuel his architectural creativity and Black Box Design was born. .
His guiding philosophy,“Design should be available to everyone”, is reflected in his work and his collaboration with Newberry Homes. Every project he touches carries a structural logic and expressive clarity that honor both creativity and practicality.
Robert’s belief that “buildings should be responsible, evocative, and expressive of the richness within each of us” aligns seamlessly with Newberry’s mission to design homes that are personal, enduring, and contextually meaningful.
